“This exclusive beachfront location, just outside of the city center of Athens, is […] the perfect destination to begin, or end, any Greek adventure, through an ultra-luxury experience.” — Philippe Zuber, CEO, Kerzner International.
One&Only Aesthesis stands in a twenty-one-hectare estate on a 1600-meter stretch of a beachfront in Southern Athens. It occupies a refurbished property constructed in the mid-1950s in the heart of the Athenian Riviera, where “lavender lands meet sapphire waters.” The resort experience is synonymous with sleek luxury and a soothing atmosphere, including in the nostalgic beach club. In no small part this is thanks to its design, dominated by natural stone, timber, and calming colors. The rooms, suites, and villas are inspired by ancient mythology mixed with the glamour of the Aegean vacations, but they also pay homage to mid-century design. Dining offers a range of distinct flavors, and the Chenot Spa tailors treatments to individual guests.

“A lakeside boutique hotel frayed by tall grasses, laundered linen whispering in the wind and a row of gabled, clapboard houses in misty hues skirting along the water’s edge.”
— De Durgerdam
Just a short drive or scenic boat ride from Amsterdam, De Durgerdam has opened after a five-year restoration led by the Dutch hospitality group Aedes (known for its work on Soho House Amsterdam and The Hoxton Amsterdam). Local design studio Buro Belén drew inspiration from the village’s maritime history, incorporating unique touches like a chandelier inspired by fishing nets and shredded rope wall-hangings in De Mark, the lobby restaurant and bar. Rooms in the historic section feature exposed wooden beams, cozy window seats, velvet throws, and custom tiles crafted by the Netherlands’ oldest ceramics company.
