The neoclassical Stockholm Stadshotell in Södermalm is a landmark building erected in 1870, commissioned by Queen Josephina to commemorate her late husband, King Oscar I. Aparthotel group Locke makes a debut in France with the opening of Le Jardin de Verre in Paris’s Latin Quarter. The hotel occupies an eclectic property, of which part is an 18th-century Parisian residence and another a 20th-century industrial factory. The 145-room hotel features a gym, yoga studio, coffee shop, cocktail bar, and destination restaurant with an indoor courtyard and terrace. Shared spaces mix the original features of the 18th-century building with stone, terracotta, and timber flooring, contrasting with the concrete columns and original factory metalwork left deliberately exposed. Greenery and soft furnishings provide a contemporary finish. The rooms showcase Parisian-chic interiors, with red-and-white striped headboards, abstract artworks, striking chandeliers, and walls adorned with handcrafted ceramics.

Chablé Sea of Cortez is a sprawling luxury resort envisioned as a collection of pods integrated into the desert landscape of Baja California Sur. Greek island escape
The creators of Tella Therra combined their experiences from Airbnb and a forest protection NGO to launch a 20-suite boutique hotel rooted in sustainability. Set up on a hilltop in Crete’s Kissamos, an hour from Chania airport, the property is defined by an amphitheater-style layout and natural materials (local sandstone and wood). Rooms are stacked so that each rooftop serves as a private garden of the suite above, each planted with olive trees from the original land plot and other greenery, providing wildlife habitats. The founders’ sustainable philosophy extends to the farm-to-table restaurant and a zero-waste kitchen. The hotel is well placed to explore the island, with Balos Lagoon and scores of archaeological sites nearby.

Following the success of the Nihi Sumba resort in Indonesia, its creators expand into Nihi Rote on West Timor’s remote Rote Island.
