Built on the northwestern end of the Samui island, beautifully situated on a densely wooded hill, Four Seasons Koh Samui is a boutique resort of sophisticated style and self-confident elegance.
Thai design, spectacular views of the Gulf of Siam and the beautiful villas, plus a high level of service: Four Seasons remains one of our favourite hotels in Thailand—and deserves the Editor’s Pick badge.
Insider tips: The best view of the bay have One Bedroom Villas No. 301, 302, 303 and 304. No. 504 and 505 are very private and close to the beach.
By using natural materials, local artifacts and perfectly matched colours, the interiors come across as thoroughly “Thai”, with perfectly balanced dose of a modern luxury.
The steep hills that host Four Seasons resort descend to a long private beach, flanked by the “classic” tall palm trees, swaying in the warm, tropical wind. You can hardly find a sight more perfectly "Thai".
The food is delicious, but perhaps not as authentically Thai as outside the hotel… which is to say: not so insanely spicy. This is a good thing.
