Belvedere Mykonos

Belvedere Mykonos, rather than one hotel, is a whole collection of unique luxury properties, located on a hill overlooking the vibrant town of Mykonos, or on the waterfront. And they all exude elegance, charm, and style.

Since its redesign in 2007, Belvedere became one of the hottest and most desirable hotels in Mykonos. In recent years, the brand expanded its accommodation offering.

Whites and blues

The Belvedere Mykonos – Hotel Rooms & Suites is a supremely elegant place, with plenty of sunny terraces, cozy alcoves and airy places to chill-out, while the interiors reflect the forms and textures of Mykonos. The palette of crisp whites and Aegean blues, as well as traditional materials (canvas, marble, forged metal, wood, and even natural rock),  blend the hotel in with the local Cycladic architecture.

Arranged in seven buildings, the hotel rooms differ in size, view from the terrace, layout, and design, but the decor is always simple, elegant and sensual. Snow-white marble floors and walls, delicate muslin curtains, wooden beams add to a clean but organic feel.

Culinary delights

After sunset, the area around the pool transforms into an exclusive Martini Bar—one of the trendiest places on the island. And after sunset, head to the Belvedere restaurants.

Matsuhisa is Greece’s only Nobu-accredited restaurant (book well in advance!). The sushi here is, of course, delicious — even the sauces are imported specially from Japan. If you are interested in local fare, the newest restaurant addition to Belvedere should be your destination. Thea Estiatorio focuses on reimagined Greek cuisine.

Beyond the hotel

One of the most desirable stays on the island is the Belvedere Villa, located on the seafront some 350 meters from the hotel. This private villa, featuring two suites and a private infinity pool, sleeps up to 9 guests and ensures a five-star treatment with butler service.

Even more recent additions to the mini-portfolio of Belvedere include the Little Venice Pieds-à-Terre apartments set directly on the famous Mykonos waterfront in the center of town, some ways from the main hotel complex. And finally, in 2019, Belvedere launched the Hilltop Rooms & Suites, featuring private Jacuzzis or pools and benefitting from great views towards the Aegean Sea.

What we love

• Great location, right in the center of the city, only minutes from the cosmopolitan streets of Mykonos, full of bars, restaurants, and boutiques
• The serene Six Senses Spa, which incorporates local elements in its global wellness philosophy, offering heavenly treatments from Deep Tissue to facials
• Great style and design not only of the hotel but of all Belvedere properties
• Panoramic swimming pool and picture-perfect views of the sea, the city — and the famous sunsets
• Delicious, rich breakfast served until noon. Great especially if your night before was too much fun!
• Great dining options. Sushi at the Nobu-accredited Matsuhisa restaurant is excellent, and the private dining experience (for up to 30 people) at the exclusive Thea Estiatorio restaurant, located above the Belvedere pool is worth experiencing as well
• The hotel's Martini Bar, with cocktails designed by famed mixologist Dale de Groff (creator of Cosmopolitan)

What you should know

• In the summer, noisy pool parties last into the wee hours, so this is not a place for people seeking peace and quiet
• The clean, minimalist design is nice, but this can’t hide the fact that the rooms are quite small. Standard rooms in the Belvedere Mykonos Hotel are rather modest, and those on the ground floor lack sea views.
• This hotel is a favorite place for young couples and groups of friends wishing to stay near the city center - but also first-class stars. Belvedere fans are Robert De Niro, fashion designer Ben de Lisi, and Madonna. Belvedere is a gay-friendly hotel.
